Aeroplan has introduced a new airline to the Canadian frequent flyer program. With immediate effect, Eurowings Discover (4Y) will be officially added to the program’s growing roster of more than 40 airline travel partners. This article is copyright 2021 The Best Customer Guide.

Eurowings Discover is the new leisure carrier of the Lufthansa Group with operating bases in Frankfurt and Munich, Germany. It serves several international destinations in Africa, North America, the Indian Ocean, and the Caribbean. Until the end of 2021, Eurowings Discover will expand its network to medium haul destinations in Europe and northern Africa, as well.

The new airline offers a premium leisure experience with lie-flat business class seating, a premium economy cabin, as well as full meal service in all classes.

The new FFP agreement expands Aeroplan’s presence and gives members more choice when it comes to airline options to popular leisure destinations in Africa and additional inter-continental routes:

  • Members can earn Aeroplan points based on distance flown on all scheduled flights operated by 4Y.
  • Members can earn Status Qualifying Milesand Status Qualifying Segments, as well as Status Qualifying Dollarson flights ticketed by Air Canada.

In terms of Aeroplan Flight Rewards on Eurowings Discover flights:

  • 4Y flights are priced based on Aeroplan’s pricing for partner airlines.
  • Members can book 4Y flights online at aircanada.com, through the Air Canada mobile app, or via Aeroplan’s Contact Centre.
  • 4Y flights can be combined with flights operated by Air Canada and our other international airline partners.
  • 4Y flights are eligible for redemption in Business and Economy classes.
  • The partner booking fee applies for flight rewards which include travel on 4Y.

The addition of Eurowings Discover represents the seventh new airline to join the Aeroplan program since June 2020, following Etihad, Azul, Vistara, Air Serbia, Virgin Australia, and Air Dolomiti.
